Discovery Channel is planning on airing more than 20 hours of shark programming from July 28 through August 4. The “fincredible” lineup will feature brand-new shark stories, not to mention the premiere of its first-ever scripted project about a real life October 1982 attack starring Love, Simon‘s Josh Duhamel and Roswell, New Mexico‘s Tyler Blackburn.
For its 31st anniversary, Shark Week will “deliver all-new groundbreaking shark stories revealing remarkable insights into the mysterious world of these magnificent creatures,” according to a press release.
Shark Week Programming 2019
The schedule for Shark Week still hasn’t been released, but the Discovery Channel has dropped some hints about what viewers can expect. In the same press release, the company stated this year’s Shark Week will take people “to the depths of the ocean in search of Deep Blue, employ the first ‘drone-towed’ seal decoy, and test some of the most exciting, cutting-edge technology for shark detecting surveillance.” Uh, what the heck is a drone-towed seal decoy? We’ll have to tune in to find out.
