Shark Week 2018 has many surprises this year for their 30th installment of the shark franchise. Shark Tank typically puts entrepreneurs in choppy water, but it’s time the celebrity investors of ABC’s hit show take the plunge into shark filled waters for Shark Week 2018!
Shark Tank Stars Take The Shark Plunge
Four of the program’s six stars will go swimming with actual sharks as part of the Discovery Channel’s Shark Week in July, according to EW. Mark Cuban, Barbara Corcoran, Daymond John, and Kevin O’Leary will each be paired up with a different oceanic organization and learn about some of the issues facing sharks, including overfishing, and by-catch, which is when commercial fishers capture unintended marine creatures.
Shark Diving For Charity?
The investors will then return to their natural habitat–the Shark Tank set–to pitch each otheras to why the organization they were paired with should receive a $50,000 donation. Robert Herjavec will join the group at the set and help them vote on which charity should get the funds.
This is the first time the celebrities of Shark Tank have teamed up with the Discovery Channel’s Shark Week, a pairing that seems only natural given the subject matter. The special, called Shark Tank Meets Shark Week, will air during the Discovery Channel’s widely popular summer programming, which premieres on July 22 and will run for eight days.
