Cage Diving With Great White Sharks | Guadalupe Island
America’s Shark Boat creates a natural experience for close white shark encounters at Guadalupe Island. Typically we see up to ten great whites at circling around our cages in a single day! Divers from around the world say it’s an unforgettable rush when a Guadalupe Island great white shark looks at you from close up. Divers who have never seen a white shark in person say the eyeball is black – that’s incorrect – only cage divers who have been on America’s Shark Boat at Guadalupe island can tell you the REAL color of a white sharks eyeball!
Guadalupe Island Diver Safety, Cage Design
For your safety, all shark cage diving at Guadalupe Island is done using a hookah system. Hookah is a specially designed surface supplied air system for our custom designed shark cages. Our white shark cages are designed to provide maximum protection for you and for our beloved great white sharks. It is vitally important that the sharks are never affected or injured during their interaction with us as we have been shark cage diving and naming sharks at Guadalupe Island since 2000! Mexican park regulations require that you stay within the cages at all times including keeping your arms, hands and cameras inside.
Cage Diving at Guadalupe Island
Our white shark divemasters and operations staff oversee all shark dives for your safety and to increase your chances of shark sightings while at Guadalupe Island. You should be ready and dressed in your wetsuit 10 minutes before your scheduled cage time. We offer free DUI weight harnesses and a 5 – 7 mm wetsuit along with, hoods, hooded vests and extra gloves available for if needed. Cage diving is simple and easy to do, just suit up and breathe! Our white shark cages are entered and exited through an upper hatch but there is also an emergency escape hatch if needed (never used in 18 years of diving).
June to November Cage Diving!
Diving with great white sharks at Guadalupe Island is an unforgettable experience but also very different than most people imagine. After 18 years of operations we deliver more sharks, more interactions, and unforgettable up close encounters. In 2000 America’s Shark Boat was the FIRST shark diving vessel to discover the white sharks at Guadalupe Island and we have been pioneering shark cage diving here ever since!

We offer shark cage diving for everyone. Years ago, when we were the only US flagged white shark diving vessel at Guadalupe Island, we created a great white shark liveaboard experience that anyone could enjoy. You don’t have to be diver certified to cage dive with us. We designed the first ever shark cages that anyone could dive in, shark diving made easy!
