At Guadalupe Island America’s Shark Boat created a cage diving operation that caters to families. Shark cage diving is a sport that is often thought to be dangerous or appealing just to men, but we have seen an influx of families within the last decade at Guadalupe Island. Kids love to shark dive. Families love exploring new adventures together and have discovered that stepping out of their comfort zone is liberating and, when face to face with a great white shark, almost addictive. To ensure they have a great time vessels like the MV Horizon have created operations that focus on safety and experience with over 18 years of operational know how with surface cages supplied by dedicated air systems.
Shark Diving Kids Programs at Guadalupe Island
One of our favorite programs for kids to learn about sharks is Sharks4Kids. The goal of Sharks4Kids is to create a new generation of shark advocates through access to a dynamic range of educational materials. Curriculum, games and activities will allow teachers to integrate shark education into their science programs on an introductory, intermediate or advanced level. Students can access games, activities and info sheets to satisfy their own curiosity about sharks. Photos and videos from scientists and conservationists bring an exciting element into the classroom and show students the beauty of the ocean.
